What to know before hiking the Rogue River Trail with us
You hike with just a day pack while our river crew rafts your overnight bag, camping gear, and supplies downstream. When you reach camp or the lodge each afternoon, cold drinks, a hot meal, and your bags are waiting.
The route covers about 39 miles of the Rogue River Trail from Grave Creek to Foster Bar, typically 10–13 miles per day. Daily distances can be adjusted to fit your group's ability.
No. Our raft-supported trips work for hikers of all levels, with guests ranging from early teens to their 70s. Since you only carry a day pack, you can focus on the trail. Talk with Hugh about your group's pace so we can plan the right trip.
Hiking trips run May through early June. Daytime temperatures are usually in the 50s to 80s°F, and mornings and evenings can dip into the 40s. Rain is possible anytime, so pack rain gear.
Yes. Choose riverside camping, lodge-to-lodge hiking with hot showers and real beds, or a combination of both.
The 3-day trip is $1,645 per person and the 4-day trip is $1,995 per person, plus a 5% federal use fee. Meals and raft support for your gear are included.
Water, snacks, a camera, rain gear, and sun protection. Everything else rides in the boats. A full pack list is emailed when you book.
Hikers meet at 8:00 a.m. at Morrison's Rogue River Lodge, 8500 Galice Rd, Merlin, OR 97532, where we pack your bags into dry bags and drive you to the trailhead. Return transportation to Morrison's is included at the end of the trip.
