When people book a multi-day rafting trip on the Rogue, they usually come for the whitewater—the thrill of Rainie Falls or the narrow squeeze of Mule Creek Canyon. But once you’re deep in the Wild and Scenic section, you realize the “in-between” moments are just as legendary.

Between the splashes, the Rogue offers a front-row seat to some of Oregon’s most iconic wildlife and secret spots that you can only reach by boat.

The Rogue’s “Big Three” Wildlife Sightings

Keep your binoculars handy and your GoPros ready. The canyon is a biological hotspot, and you’re likely to share the river with some famous locals:

Pro Tip: If you’re lucky enough to be on the river during a salmon run, keep an eye on the “fish ladders” at Rainie Falls. Watching a massive Chinook salmon leap into the air against a rushing waterfall is something you’ll never forget.

Swimming Holes & Secret Falls

The Rogue isn’t just for rafting; it’s for soaking. Because we’re on the water for multiple days, we have the luxury of stopping at the spots the “day-trippers” never see.

The Crystal Clear Side Creeks

While the main stem of the Rogue is powerful, the side creeks—like Tate Creek or Flora Dell—are where the magic happens. These spots offer:

Ready to Jump

For the adrenaline junkies in the group, the Rogue’s basalt cliffs offer some of the best cliff jumping in the Pacific Northwest.

Note: We always “depth check” every spot before jumping. Safety first, big splashes second!
